let tasks have subtasks
Several times I've been working on a task and found that it really consisted of multiple sub tasks.
My only way of properly representing that is by making a new task list based on the task, then adding the subtasks as regular tasks in that list.
I'd much rather be able to just click a button and add a subtask under my current task, all in the same task list.
To expand the idea farther, tasks should be able to be turned into task lists.

Android app
I fell in love with Teambox being that I am a project manager and strategist....having an APP that will fulfill most (ideally all) functions would be great! Can we get this together as soon as possible....pretty pretty please?!

Better gantt support
Tasks and dependencies should also be supported by the gantt chart

We are about to launch an update for Gantt in Teambox 4 including tasks for all task lists.
We do not have plans for dependencies yet, but it’s something we’ll keep in mind for future releases.

Assign tasks to multiple people at once
It would be really great to have the ability to assign a single task to more than just one person. Some tasks require collaboration between several individuals and I would like to be able to reflect that within Teambox

Hashtags
Add support for lightweight hashtags (like Twitter). These could be entered in any text context and allow loose coupling of tasks, conversations, etc...
The tags could be hyperlinked for search and the sidebar could have a list of common tags that could be dragged into place for easy allocation (like GMail Labels).
At the very least, the Task filter should be able to search for tags in the task comments, not just search the task titles (which is the current functionality)
This feature would enable a large number of use cases without being prescriptive.

It’s possible to use #hashtags in the title of Tasks now with Teambox 4. Go check it out!
The support isn’t extensive, since it’s still a hidden feature, but we plan to improve it with time.

Similar to the red count icon on facebook, indicating how many new comments or messages. It would be helpful when you are inundated with team updates.

More modern, Agile progress reporting than "Gantt"
Agile Project Management has long done away with the Gantt Chart:

http://www.agilekiwi.com/earnedvalue/agile-charts/Teambox is a very agile piece of software, so our team was excited about Teambox, but was disappointed when we saw the word "Gantt". Granted, Teambox does use a very light Gantt, which is wise, so it's arguable whether it should even be called a "Gantt". "Gantt" usually implies a large and complex, multi-tiered project plan with numerous dependencies and subdependencies - popular 15 years ago in the days of wasteful and slow Waterfall development.
A much more appropriate [valuable / modern] progress metric for Teambox would… more

Thank your for all your comments. We are listening, and would like to implement this in a way that works for everybody.
Question: Would it help if you were allowed to enter time for any date in the last month? If so, we can add an option so users can choose any date in the last 30 days to enter the time tracking.

Task and Project Burndown
At any point you could set an estimate on a task. You could then see how that estimate trends with time. Ideally it would trend to zero. You could then roll this up into the tasklist level so a task list estimate would be the sum of all estimates. And also into the project level. You could then see a graph of how this is trending over time.

Task list templates
In order to quickly create projects with repetitive tasks, Teambox should have an option to "create a template task list", that you could use when creating a project to load it with tasks from the beginning.
This will be useful for people working on client projects, where tasks are streamlined.

Android Widget
The mobile view is great, but updates are not so easy from a phone. I would be great to use a widget for this. RSS notifications, as indicated in another post here are problematic.
