Add ability to batch edit tasks, especially due dates of tasks
Edit more than one task at a time, especially the ability to move a selection of tasks to another date simply
Sure. We are finishing some features and testing the application until the end of this month, during October we´ll do additional testing and will gradually invite users to play with Teambox 5.
Our plan is to make Teambox 5 available for all users sometime in November, however, this of course is subject to reaching full product stability. Teambox 5 and 4 will then coexist for some time for smooth transition.
If you have any doubts drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org, I´ll be happy to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for officially commenting. Though disappointing, as Jose was rightly pointing out - batch editing is a basic feature for any power users, we recognize that not every feature that would be good (99 votes... apparently not enough to "push" a feature into dev) can make it into this next release.
Care to try to redirect disappointment toward the good news that there's a big upgrade coming by providing us an update on when (even approximately) we can expect the long-awaited v.5 release?
*turns to look at Jose, Jon, Loris, and all voting others here.... shurgs..... sighs*
This is an interesting idea and we see there a clear use case.
Status has not been changed as there are other task related features planned for after the Teambox 5, so the answer is not yet.
Tasks is definitely going to be our main focus, so we may start to explore this post v5.

Batch assigning tasks or batch assigning statuses or dates is usually a big make or break for company's that handle bulk items. This would be great for our company.

Think its time we get some company feedback here on intentions to (or not to yet) include batch editing of task attributes.
We switch contractors often and can not pre-assign tasks in the template (to long and complex Tasklists or Project templates involving sometimes 100's of tasks.... imagine how long we are working just to: open tasklist, open task, go to dropdown, select name, click save, go to next tasklist, open tasklist, open task, go to dropdown, select name, click save, go to next tasklist, open tasklist, open task, go to dropdown, select name, click save, go to next tasklist, open tasklist, open task, go to dropdown, select name, click save, go to next tasklist, .... (feels like copy/pasting that 1000's of times to makes his point but stops himself).
This is just crazy making silly work.
Reason to hope? Most competitive apps have this.

Asana added this a while ago and it was a great feature. Hoping TB adds it soon
yes. We need to be able to push dates back, forward, etc.

One common case is to assign multiple tasks to the same user at once
One way I've seen something like this implemented in another site is using drag and drop. So, a link to "date" and "users/assignees" appears in a small pane to the right and then it is dragged to the tasks to the left. Once dragged there, the change is made. So, I select say 10 June as the new due date, and then repeatedly drag it to each task. This might work if it is too hard to allow multiple selection via an "edit/batch edit" button.
and also to assign a batch of tasks to a person or change settings etc
