Using Teambox via email

You can easily use your email to post comments in Teambox.

Whenever somebody posts an element relevant to you, you will receive an email notification.
These email notifications can be configured in your Settings, if you do not wish to receive emails.

Answering emails

You can answer these emails to post a reply directly in Teambox. Simply write your answer over the reply line, and it will post your answer in Teambox. Other users concerned with that element will be notified.

Special addresses

Your project has a short code, which you will find in the address bar. For example, the project Keiretsu has the address:

`http://teambox.com/projects/keiretsu`

Emails can be sent to any of these addresses to post comments or reply:

keiretsu@app.teambox.comWill create a conversation on the project
keiretsu+conversation@app.teambox.comWill post a new conversation with the title and body you email.
keiretsu+conversation+5@app.teambox.comWill post a new comment in the conversation whose id is 5
keiretsu+task@app.teambox.comWill create a task with the title and description you email.
keiretsu+task+12@app.teambox.comWill post a new comment in the task whose id is 12

Assigning or resolving tasks from email

When answering an email, you can use several keyword to change the status of a task. Add any of these codes to the top of your email:

  • #username will assign the task to the user @username.
  • #resolve or `#resolved` will mark the task as resolved.
  • #reject or `#rejected` will mark the task as rejected.
  • #hold will set the task on hold.
